PUTRAJAYA: The 2025 National Day celebration at Dataran Putrajaya here on Sunday (Aug 31) was hailed as a remarkable success by Deputy Prime Ministers Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, with both saying that it strengthened the spirit of unity among Malaysians.
Speaking to reporters after the celebration, Ahmad Zahid conveyed National Day greetings to all Malaysians and praised this year’s event as highly impressive.
“May Malaysians remain united, setting aside our differences,” he said.
Fadillah commended all those involved for the outstanding performances showcased during the celebration.
“The performances were outstanding and fostered a strong spirit of togetherness. What matters most is that we stay united to safeguard Malaysia’s unity and build prosperity for the well-being of all,” he said.
With the theme ‘Malaysia Madani: Rakyat Disantuni’, the celebration, which officially began at 8am, drew over 100,000 visitors of all ethnicities and ages, as well as foreign tourists.
A total of 81 contingents comprising 14,062 participants took part in the 2025 National Day parade and procession, which also featured 21 marching bands, seven decorated vehicles, 508 land and air assets, and 116 service animals. – Bernama
