Onn Hafiz: Johor on alert after MetMalaysia issues continuous rain warning

JOHOR BARU: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a continuous rain alert for Segamat and Tangkak from Nov 28 to 29.

The alert-level warning was issued following a forecast of a low-pressure weather system currently in the Straits of Malacca and expected to move eastwards across , Kuala Lumpur and Pahang during the period.

The movement of this weather system also carries the potential for continuous rain in the northern areas of Johor.

Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, who posted the warning on Facebook today, said the state government and disaster management agencies were on alert, monitoring river levels, coordinating logistics and ready to deploy aid if conditions worsen.

He urged residents, particularly those in low-lying areas or near rivers, to stay informed and follow the authorities’ instructions.

“May Allah SWT ease our affairs and protect Johor from any disasters,” he said.
