On PKR polls results, Zahid says Anwar knows what is best for govt, cabinet


KUANTAN: believes Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ibrahim knows what is best to ensure the government and cabinet moves forward in unison, following the outcome of the central leadership election yesterday.

president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said he would not interfere in the matters of other parties and would leave it to , who is president.

“I should not interfere. will do his best to ensure the government and cabinet moves forward as a team to ensure the Madani government is strengthened.

“I congratulate Anwar, who won the deputy president’s post, as well as the four vice-presidents, Youth chief and the other winners.

“Hopefully, the outcome will strengthen ties between PKR and through Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional.”

He said this after opening the Eastern International TVET college in Gambang here today.

Present was Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.

Earlier, Zahid was asked whether two ministers losing in the PKR polls would affect the cabinet.

Economy Minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli failed to retain the deputy president’s post, while Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad failed to defend his vice-president post.

In his speech earlier, Zahid announced that Wan Rosdy had been appointed deputy chairman of the Cabinet Committee on Entrepreneur Development. Zahid chairs the committee.

Last month, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim appointed Wan Rosdy the special adviser to the Entrepreneur Development and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Council.
