KINABATANGAN: Barisan Nasional (BN), through its candidate Mohd Ismail Ayob, has retained the Lamag state assembly seat with a majority of 5,681 votes.
The result was officially announced by the election returning officer Dr Eddy Syaizul Rizam at the Official Vote Counting Centre in Dewan Sri Lamag today.
Mohd Ismail, who faced a straight contest against Parti Warisan candidate Mazliwati Abdul Malek, secured 7,269 votes, compared with Mazliwati’s 1,588 votes.
