SUNGAI PETANI: “I am grateful to have been informed that a man has been arrested on suspicion of being involved in the stabbing incident that claimed my daughter’s life.
“At least there is justice for my daughter, and if it is proven that he is responsible, I hope he will receive the punishment he deserves,” said Khamis Abdul Rahim, 55.
Khamis is the father of Nurul Nur Syamira Khamis, 28, who was killed alongside Ku Asyraf Ku Shuib, 30, after they were stabbed multiple times in Taman Nona, Guar Chempedak, Yan, last Thursday.
He said his daughter’s remains were laid to rest at the Kampung Sungai Protan Muslim Cemetery in Bagan Serai, Perak, after Isyak prayers last night.
Khamis added that he is still in Perak and is expected to return to Sungai Petani today to settle matters related to her death.
“I keep thinking of her because she was my eldest child. Every day before going to work, she would greet me and wait until I left for work.
“She lived with me in Sungai Petani, and she was indeed a good daughter,” he said when contacted today.
Khamis said the deceased was the eldest of three siblings from his marriage to his late wife, who passed away in 2013.
Harian Metro had earlier reported that a woman and a man were found dead with multiple stab wounds in front of a house in Taman Nona, Guar Chempedak, Yan, last Thursday.
In the 9.40pm incident, the male victim was found lying face down on the road outside a house, while the female victim was found in a Proton Wira car.
