Two weeks ago, nubia launched the Z80 Ultra in its home market of China. It’s our turn this week, as the company’s local arm has announced the launch of the phone for the Malaysian market. That being said, only one of its three configurations have made its way to our shores.
Beyond that, most of the nubia Z80 Ultra remains unchanged from its journey here. Which means it keeps the 6.85-inch BOE X10 1,216 x 2,688 144Hz AMOLED screen on the outside. Inside, it keeps the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, but memory and storage is limited to the 16GB + 512GB combo. Similarly, it retains the 7,200 mAh battery. but charging is now a unified 80W for both wired and wireless.
Imaging on the nubia Z80 Ultra is also left unchanged. This means the 50MP main + 50MP wide-angle + 64MP telephoto zoom combo make a return. As does the under display 16MP shooter in front. Other features include support for WiFi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and and an IP69 rating to wrap it all up.
As mentioned, nubia is not giving the local market a choice for the Z80 Ultra’s memory and storage configs. For what it’s worth, you still have two colourways – black and white – to choose from. Either way, it is priced at RM3,699 on the brand’s own online store, though for whatever reason the display and battery specs here don’t line up with the product page. Alternatively, you can get the phone from the brand’s official stores on Shopee and Lazada, which show a price of RM4,199 instead.
