KUALA LUMPUR: Netizens have expressed outrage over a viral video showing a family abandoning kittens before driving off and appearing to hit at least one of them.
CCTV footage shared on TikTok by Media Telus shows a Perodua Axia stopping in front of what appears to be a row of houses or shops.
Three children then get out of the car.
One adult cat runs off as it is released from a child in the back seat, while an older child is seen dumping three kittens from a sack.
The children then get back in the car.
Before it drives off, one child leans out of the window and calls to the kittens.
Two kittens start walking towards the vehicle, with one going underneath it.
As the car drives away, one kitten appears to have been nearly run over by a rear tyre.
As the vehicle turns and leaves, one kitten continues chasing it while the other two remain by the curb.
A person can also be seen walking to a bicycle parked next to the building just as the car leaves the frame.
