Never has a rogue state been defended like Israel has been. It is the only country that goes on a rampage of slaughter of innocent Palestinian women and children and yet a bunch of Western countries that never cease to extol the virtues of human rights rush to the despicable regime’s aid, saying Israel has the right to defend itself.
What they are really saying is that the barbaric Zionist regime has the right to massacre the Palestinians as it pleases. What is worse, this diplomatic support is backed by supply of arms, knowing fully well that they are being used to commit genocide.
This explains the impunity of the Zionist regime. Little wonder, alleged war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel and his extremist ministers dare make their genocidal intent against the Palestinians public. Their temerity knows no bounds.
Netanyahu even dared to walk to the podium of the United Nations General Assembly to shamelessly disclose to the world leaders his genocidal ambition: a map of Greater Israel, with Palestine erased. No censure from the Zionist regime’s iron-clad allies.
If that wasn’t enough, Netanyahu got his UN ambassador to tear up the UN Charter at the world body’s General Assembly. No censure, too, from Tel Aviv’s allies. Shredding the UN Charter is equivalent to saying that Israel doesn’t belong to the UN. Yet, unashamedly, it continues being one.
Perhaps it is because the Zionist regime owes the UN a debt for recognising it as a state, though it was erected on stolen Palestinian territory.
Welcome to the lawless world. So we shouldn’t be surprised that the United States is imposing sanctions on three Palestinian human rights groups for calling on the International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate Israel over allegations of genocide in Gaza when the ICC itself was slapped with sanctions by Washington.
Israel, on its part, has threatened and continues to threaten the ICC and its judges and prosecutors for investigating Netanyahu and other Israelis for war crimes and crimes against humanity. Karim Khan, the erstwhile chief prosecutor of ICC, is now finding out how nasty Netanyahu can get. Barbarism knows no limit.
There are two reasons why Israel’s allies don’t want the ICC to investigate Israel. One is that any investigation is bound to disclose their complicity for supplying weapons to Israel.
The International Court of Justice did not mince its words when it said in the case brought by South Africa against Israel that its allies may be complicit in the “plausible” genocide that was unfolding in Gaza.
The second reason is Western guilt for allowing Holocaust to happen. Leading the guilt list is Germany where Holocaust happened. There is no denying that what was perpetrated by Nazi Germany was genocide.
Here are two overwhelming questions for Germany and the rest of Israel’s allies: If Holocaust in Germany was genocide, why isn’t holocaust in Gaza genocide? If Holocaust denial is a crime in Germany and the rest of the West, why isn’t Gaza holocaust denial a crime there?
To scholars, genocide is the killing of a member of a targeted group. By this measure, both the holocaust and its denial must be a crime everywhere.
