Nothing Phone (3) specs and features

With the Nothing Phone (3), Nothing decided to kill off the Glyph Lights design, which has been with all of Nothing’s smartphones prior to this, including the Phone (2) and Phone (3a) series.
Taking its place is what the company calls Glyph Matrix. It’s essentially a circular matrix LED display consisting of 489 LEDs, located at the top right of the phone’s back panel. It can do things like notify you of notificsations using combinations of sound and light for each contact, function as a camera countdown, volume indicator, torch, and even recording light.

Also included with the Glyph Matrix are Glyph Toys, which can be seen as interactive widgets. At launch, the “toys” include “spin the bottle”, “rock paper scissors”, and “magic 8 ball”. The Glyph Matrix can also be used to display the time and function as a stopwatch. Nothing has also made the SDK for Glyph Matrix public, allowing thurd-party developers to create more Glyph Toys for users to “play” with.
Flip the phone around, and you will be looking at a 6.67″ 1.5K (2800×1260) 120Hz LTPS AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 4,500 nits.

Powering the Nothing Phone (3) is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset. So no, this isn’t a true flagship processor, which is the Snapdragon 8 Elite. With that said, the Phone (3) is still Nothing’s latest flagship, but not necessary a true flagship phone in terms of performance. In Malaysia, the Phone (3) can be had with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
The Nothing Phone (3)’s rear camera layout might have sparked a lot of strong opinions, but what’s undeinbable is that this is an upgrade when compared to the Nothing Phone (2)’s dual camera setup.

Sporting three shooters at the back, this consist of a 50MP f/1.68 main camera with a 1/1.3″ Sony sensor and OIS, which Nothing says lets in 44% more light when compared tonthe Phone (2). Next up, you get a 50MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera with a 1/2.76″ sensor, as well as a 50MP f/2.68 OIS-equipped periscope telephoto shooter that comes with a 1/2.75″ sensor. For selfies, you get a 50MP f/2.2 camera.
Supplying power to the Nothing Phone (3) is a 5,150mAh battery that can be charged at 65W via USB-C, or at 15W via a Qi wireless charger. The phone can also do reverse wired charging at 7.5W and reverse wireless charging at 5W.

Out of the box, the Nothing Phone (3) runs Nothing OS 3.5 based on Android 15, and is promised with up to 5 years of major OS updates and 7 yeras of security patch updates. The brand also mentioned that Nothing OS 4.0, which is built on Android 16 is scheduled for release in Q3 2025.
