Non-subsidised RON95 petrol will be sold at RM2.60 per litre from tomorrow onwards as the government fully rolls out the BUDI95 initiative.
This is a 55 sen increase from RM2.05 per litre currently, but will only apply to those who do not qualify for BUDI95, particularly foreigners.
The finance ministry said the price of non-subsidised RON95 will be adjusted based on global fluctuations in the oil market, while supporting price stability.
RON95 will meanwhile be sold at RM1.99 per litre for Malaysians eligible for BUDI95, and RM2.05 a litre for the public transport and land freight transport sectors.
The price of RON97 will remain at RM3.21 per litre, while diesel will continue to be sold at RM2.93 per litre in Peninsular Malaysia and RM2.15 per litre in East Malaysia.
These prices will be in effect until Oct 8.
In a statement, the ministry said the government will continue to monitor global crude oil price trends and take appropriate measures to ensure the people’s continued welfare and wellbeing.
