KUALA LUMPUR: A moderate earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale was deteced in North Sumatra, Indonesia, at about noon today.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), in a post on its Facebook today, said the 12.56pm quake did not pose any tsunami threat to Malaysia.
It added that the epicentre of the earthquake was about 62km northeast of Meulaboh, Indonesia, at a depth of 10km.
