No BN-Pakatan seat clashes in Sabah polls, confirms Tok Mat

PUTATAN, Nov 7 — Barisan Nasional () deputy chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan today confirmed that there will be no seat clashes between and Pakatan Harapan (PH) in the 17th Sabah state election.

Mohamad, who is also deputy president, said that although discussions within on seat allocations were still ongoing, both parties in the Madani government would not contest against each other.

“BN’s machinery must continue working until polling day on Nov 29 to ensure BN’s victory in the upcoming election,” he told reporters after attending a gathering with Kampung Contoh residents here yesterday.

The Election Commission has set Nov 29 as polling day, with nomination day on Nov 15 and early voting on Nov 25.

Meanwhile, Mohamad proposed that Putatan Division chief Jeffrey Nor Mohamed be chosen as ‘s candidate for the Tanjung Keramat state seat in the state polls.

Mohamad said Jeffrey Nor’s loyalty to the party and his efforts to rebuild Umno’s strength in Putatan made him a deserving candidate.

“We support Jeffrey Nor as the candidate for Tanjung Keramat due to the strong support from the local community, but we will wait for the official announcement from the leadership,” he said. — Bernama
