FMT has learnt that Khairy Jamaluddin recently submitted an appeal letter through his aide.
:

president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi says the party has yet to receive an appeal letter from its former youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin against his sacking in January 2023.

“Not yet, I haven’t received it,” Zahid said briefly when met by reporters after a dialogue session with state-level stakeholders on the rural and regional development ministry’s 2026 budget.

FMT understands that Khairy recently sent the letter through his aide.

Khairy, the former health minister and three-term Rembau MP, was sacked from in January 2023 for breaching party discipline during the 15th general election.

On July 6, Khairy said he would think about Youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh’s offer to help facilitate his return to the party.

Akmal had said he was open to facilitating the return of suspended and sacked Umno leaders such as Khairy, Hishammuddin Hussein, and Shahril Hamdan.
