KUALA LUMPUR: A non-governmental organisation (NGO) chairman is expected to be charged at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court tomorrow.
Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) said it had obtained consent to prosecute the NGO chairman linked to Op Serantau.
In June last year, MACC uncovered the alleged misappropriation of approximately RM26 million in public donations by the NGO.
According to sources, the case came to light following the arrest of five individuals, including the NGO’s chairman, secretary, treasurer, and finance officer, during Op Serantau, led by the MACC’s Selangor office.
The arrests were made during raids at several locations across Selangor, Melaka, and Penang.
In a separate case, MACC said the Shah Alam Sessions Court will also deliver its decision in the trial of a former project director on the same day.
