Newlywed man found dead hanging from tree


BALING: A man who had been married for only two days was found dead, hanging from a neem tree in Kampung Lubuk Kabu, Kuala Pegang, near here today.

Acting district police chief Deputy Superintendent Ahmad Salimi Md Ali said police received a public report about the discovery at 11.30am.

Following the report, a team from the district police headquarters rushed to the scene.

Initial investigations found that the deceased, aged 34, was a resident of the village.

He is believed to have climbed a neem tree about five metres high beside a house.

Ahmad Salimi said the man is believed to have been married for only two days.

Medical personnel from the Kupang Health Clinic later confirmed that the man had died at the scene.

The body was sent to the Forensic Unit of Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital (HSB) in Alor Setar for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death.
