KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 3 — Police are awaiting further instructions from the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) over the violent commotion that broke out during an eviction operation in Kampung Sungai Baru on September 11.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Commissioner Datuk Fadil Marsus said investigation papers had been completed and submitted to the AGC for review, The Star reported today.

“We have completed our investigation and handed over all evidence to the AGC. We are now awaiting instructions on whether or not charges will be brought under Section 353, Section 186 and Section 324 of the Penal Code,” he was quoted as saying in a press conference at city police headquarters.

The incident saw Dang Wangi police chief Assistant Commissioner Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman injured after being struck by a stone and later taken to Hospital Kuala Lumpur for treatment.

Police said eight individuals were arrested, while more than 60 witnesses, including security personnel, were called in to assist the investigation into the court-ordered eviction.
