PETALING JAYA:

Police have detained a Myanmar national on suspicion of murdering his wife at a house in Kampung Kuala Kuang, Chemor, near Ipoh.

Ipoh police chief Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said the 37-year-old suspect was arrested after police found the body of his wife in the house at about 3.40pm today, Bernama reported.

He said police received a call at about 12.30pm from a man asking for help to contact an ambulance, saying a 28-year-old Myanmar woman was unconscious at his location.

Police sent there found the woman dead, with strangulation marks on her neck.

The body was sent to Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun in Ipoh for a post-mortem.

Abang Zainal said police have yet to establish the motive for the killing.
