KATHMANDU, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) — Nepal’s foreign tourist arrivals jumped 22 percent in August over the same month in the previous year, the Nepal Tourism Board said on Monday.
The country welcomed 88,680 foreign visitors in the month, up from 72,717 in August 2024, the board said in a report, attributing the growth to more visitors from India and China.
Total foreign arrivals in Nepal in the past eight months reached 736,562, the board noted.
Tourism is a main contributor to Nepal’s foreign currencies and job opportunities.
