Missing woman found drowned after car discovered on bridge


KUALA NERANG: A woman who was reported missing near the Tekih Highway Bridge, Kampung Pinang, Pedu, since yesterday was found drowned at Jeram Tok Din, about one kilometre away.

Kuala Nerang Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) Chief, Assistant Fire Superintendent Mohd Aminuddin Mad Khozali, said the victim was found by members of the public who were camping in the area.

Firefighters, with six personnel, proceeded to the scene and retrieved the victim at about 10pm.

Yesterday, the woman was reported missing, and a Perodua Axia car, believed to be hers, was found on the bridge.

Following the report, a search and rescue (SAR) operation was carried out by the fire department and police at the scene from 5.30pm.
