Missing airman: Police seek public’s help in search for RMAF personnel from Subang base, last seen swimming in Batang Kali river

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 1 — Police are searching for a Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) personnel reported missing after swimming in Sungai Kedondong, Batang Kali, on August 23. 

Serdang police chief ACP Muhamad Farid Ahmad said the missing airman, Muhammad Ammar Mohd Ariffin, 27, is based at the Subang Air Base and currently attending a vehicle transport supervisor course at the Air Force Institute of Supply Management Training (INSMAT), Bandar Kinrara.

“Muhammad Ammar was last seen around 4.30pm on August 23 while swimming with three fellow RMAF personnel, before later being spotted alone. On August 24, around 6pm, his roommate tried to contact him but found his mobile phone switched off.

“RMAF personnel from INSMAT lodged a police report at 4.16pm on August 25 after he failed to return to the institute,” he said in a statement today.

Muhamad Farid said the missing man is fair-skinned, with straight short hair and about 175 centimetres tall.
