KUALA LUMPUR: Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are forecast to affect eight states and federal territories nationwide until 1pm today, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
In a statement, MetMalaysia said affected areas include Kedah involving Kuala Muda, Baling, Kulim, and Bandar Baharu, as well as Penang.
Several districts in Perak such as Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang, and Muallim are also expected to experience severe weather, along with Raub and Bentong in Pahang, and parts of Selangor.
The alert further covers Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Negri Sembilan, including Jelebu, Seremban, Kuala Pilah, Jempol and Tampin.
In Sabah, areas at risk include the West Coast involving Ranau and Kota Belud, as well as Telupid, Kinabatangan, Beluran, Sandakan and Kudat.
