MESF Sets Two Gold Medal Target For MLBB At 2025 SEA Games

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 13 (Bernama) — The Malaysian Esports Federation (MESF) has set a two gold medal target for the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang men’s and women’s team events at the 2025 South East Asian (SEA) Games in Thailand from Dec 9 to 20.

Its president, Muhammad Naim Al-Amin said that the target was achievable based on the selected athletes and their experience at the international level, as well as the appointment of head coach Michael Bocado from the Philippines, who is widely regarded as being one of the best in the world.

“In terms of player maturity, they lacked international experience during the previous SEA Games. But now after they have played at a higher level, we hope the experience and skills will be translated to a new spirit in the Malaysian teams,” he said at a media conference introducing the national MLBB team for the 2025 SEA Games at Bukit Jalil here today.

He also said that a selection committee involving several industry players has been set up to identify the best players to represent the country.

Muhammad Qayyum Ariffin Mohd Suhairi (YumS), Hazziq Danish Mohamad Rizwan (Stormie), Muhammad Haqqullah Ahmad Shahrul Zaman (Sekys), Ealtond Rayner (Lolealz), Muhammad Danish Fitri Razman (Uni) and Idreen Abdul Jamal (Momo) have been selected to be the national men’s MLBB team, while Qurratul Ain Nurfarisha Mohd Nizam (Shaa), Hanis Wahidah Mohakad Dashuki (Hanie), Queenie Lim Mae Shen (Qu1nn), Afrina Balqis Ibdhi Har Ali (Rinaa), Arfah Hazira Shahiruddin (Tiramisu) and Sharifah Alia Husna Syed Fakrrurozi (Aria) will represent Malaysia as the national women’s MLBB team.

Malaysia has yet to win the gold in the MLBB event since its introduction in 2019, with the men’s team winning silver and the women’s team the bronze in Cambodia in 2023.
