KUALA LUMPUR: Meridian Bhd has secured a RM40.5 million contract to undertake main building and associated works for a government housing project in Kedah.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the company said its subsidiary MIB Construction Sdn Bhd had accepted a letter of award from Kejora Harta Bhd to serve as the main contractor for Phase 3 of the Projek Perumahan Penjawat Awam Malaysia (PPAM) in Bandar Amanjaya, Kuala Muda.

The scope of work includes main building works, demolition of existing structures, piling, as well as external and infrastructure works.

The project covers the construction of 140 double-storey terrace houses of various designs, with a completion timeline of about 24 months.

Meridian said the contract is expected to contribute to its earnings and net assets per share for the financial year ending May 31, 2026 and throughout the duration of the contract.
