KUALA LUMPUR: Media Prima Bhd was named the recipient of the Madani Best Media Business Award at the Madani Business Awards 2025 held here tonight.
The award, accepted by group managing director Datuk Mohd Rafiq Mat Razali, recognises the company’s position as Malaysia’s largest integrated media group.
Dewan Rakyat speaker Tan Sri Dr Johari Abdul presented the award, which highlights Media Prima’s contributions in promoting positive values and strengthening the country’s media landscape.
It also acknowledges the group’s efforts in driving digital innovation and delivering social impact across its television, radio, print, digital and out-of-home platforms.
Rafiq, who has been instrumental in Media Prima’s digital transformation, co-founded KFit, which later evolved into Fave, before joining the group in 2016 to help expand its digital presence.
He is also the chairman of the Communications and Multimedia Content Forum of Malaysia.
His recognition headlined the inaugural Madani Business Awards 2025, which honoured more than 50 chief executive officers, entrepreneurs and local companies for blending commercial success with meaningful societal impact.
Organised by Dewan Perdagangan Islam Malaysia Selangor in collaboration with Yayasan Wilayah Persekutuan and Yayasan Generasi Malaysia, the awards celebrate organisations advancing community well-being and inclusive national development.
Organising committee chairman Mohd Yahya Mat Sahri said the awards reflect a commitment to responsible and value-driven business practices under the Malaysia Madani framework.
“The Madani Business Awards honour entrepreneurs who achieve commercial success while creating positive social impact, guided by the six Malaysia Madani values.
“This initiative demonstrates how responsible business practices can go hand in hand with commercial success,” he said.
Themed “Excellence With Values”, the awards emphasised compassion and trustworthiness as core principles to ensure businesses uphold fairness, ethics and responsibility.
Key categories included the Premier Excellence Award, Industry Excellence Award, Corporate and Entrepreneur Icon Award and Honorary Award.
All nominees were evaluated by an advisory board and expert panels using financial, operational and long-term sustainability indicators.
Eligible organisations were required to have operated for at least three years and demonstrate strong governance, innovation and contributions to society.
Supported by the Prime Minister’s Department and several ministries, the awards align with the Malaysia Madani aspiration to drive responsible innovation, strengthen community well-being and foster an inclusive, sustainable and competitive economy.
