PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) will meet representatives from social media platform X next week, said Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.
This meeting comes after Fahmi announced that Putrajaya was considering legal action against billionaire Elon Musk’s social media platform over its failure to ensure user safety in Malaysia.
MCMC, on Jan 11, said that Grok would be placed under temporary restriction due to repeated misuse on X to generate obscene, sexually explicit, indecent, grossly offensive, and non-consensual manipulated images, including content involving women and minors.
Fahmi also said the platform’s representatives have made contact, and the government is now awaiting their feedback.
