PUTRAJAYA: More than 100,000 people have thronged Dataran Putrajaya today for the 2025 National Day parade.
Themed “Malaysia Madani: Rakyat Disantuni”, the celebration was graced by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, and Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia.
Their Majesties joined Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, and other government leaders and foreign envoys.
This year’s parade features 14,062 participants, including marching bands, vehicles, and contingents from key sectors such as the economy, telecommunications, creative industries, sports and national security.
Making their debut were the Asean 2025 Chairmanship Contingent, which reflects Malaysia’s role as Asean Chair, and the Visit Malaysia Year 2026 Contingent.
Other highlights included a special performance called the ‘Malaysia Madani Special Performance’ with 1,000 participants from the Culture and Arts Department, a Human Graphic Terrace involving 2,000 students, as well as a bagpipe and aerial display by the Malaysian Armed Forces.
The crowd was also captivated by a performance from singer Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza, who sang the 2025 National Day and Malaysia Day theme song.
