KUALA LUMPUR: A female masseuse has been charged with sharing a video and image of a fake marriage certificate purportedly between her and a royal family member after she was found fit to stand trial.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Izzat Amir Idham informed the Sessions Court of the matter during the mention of the case involving Persana Avril Sollunda, 43, before Judge Suhaila Haron on Wednesday (Sept 17).

“Based on the forensic psychiatric medical report, the accused is fit to plead and stand trial in this court. The prosecution will call six witnesses to testify,” said Izzat Amir.

The accused’s lawyer, Jefvinder Singh, informed the court that the defence would review all relevant case documents, including the psychiatric report, before submitting a representation.

Suhaila subsequently set the trial dates for Dec 3 to 5, with a further case mention scheduled for Oct 13.

On July 22, the court ordered the accused to undergo a one-month psychiatric examination at Hospital Bahagia Ulu Kinta, Tanjung Rambutan, Perak, after the prosecution was granted leave to obtain her mental health report.

Persana Avril is accused of creating and initiating a post of an image within a video on TikTok.

The post, dated Feb 25, depicted a fake marriage certificate between a member of the royal family and “Crown Princess Ratu Shana”, with the intent to annoy others.

The post was accessed at the Cyber and Multimedia Crime Investigation Division, Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department at 10am on Feb 26.

She was charged under Section 233(1)(a) of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, which carries a maximum fine of RM500,000 or imprisonment of up to two years, or both upon conviction.

A further fine of RM5,000 may also be imposed for every day the offence persists after conviction. – Bernama
