Marsha Milan's 'Hening Rindu' wins major Asian award

MALAYSIAN singer Marsha Milan’s song, ‘Hening Rindu’, recently won the gold award for Best Sound Design in an Asian TV Programme/Series at the 2025 ContentAsia Awards in Taipei.

The victory is a significant achievement for Marsha and the team behind the song, marking a major milestone for Malaysian music on the international stage.

The win comes after ‘Hening Rindu’ won the 39th Anugerah Juara Lagu.

Marsha said she got emotional when the winner was announced and that the award validated her team’s hard work.

“I was genuinely speechless when they announced our win. Tears just started flowing,” she said.

She emphasised that the award belongs to everyone involved, including the composers Wan Saleh and Ikhwan Fatanna.

Co-writer Ikhwan shared a similar sentiment, describing the win as being “beyond all expectations.”

He said the international recognition proves that Malaysians can compete on a global scale.

“Ultimately, this victory proves that Malaysian work can stand tall alongside international music,” he said.

He expressed his hope that this win will inspire other local composers and artistes, and help to elevate Malaysian music on the global market.

Published by Alternate Records and Talents, ‘Hening Rindu’ beat strong competition from across Asia, including entries from shows like ‘Bad Guys’, ‘Furever Yours’, ‘Karuvanam’, and ‘Shape of Love’.

The ContentAsia Awards celebrate excellence in video content and talent throughout the region, and this year’s event showcased the intense competition within the regional creative industry.
