SHAH ALAM: Police are still on the manhunt for the suspects involved in the attack on a key witness in the corruption trial of former finance minister Lim Guan Eng.
Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Shazeli Kahar (pic) stated that the investigation into the attack was in progress, with several statements already recorded from various individuals.
“We are taking statements from many witnesses to determine the motive and modus operandi of the incident.
“The operation to locate the suspects is being conducted by the Petaling Jaya district police’s Criminal Investigation Department, assisted by the Selangor police contingent headquarters,” he said at a press conference here on Wednesday (Sept 3).
On Aug 11, Comm Shazeli was reported as saying that the break-in at the witness’s home was being treated as a criminal case.
The media previously reported that the victim sustained injuries to his face and hands after being attacked by a group of ten men who broke into his Petaling Jaya home on Aug 6.
Lim, who is also the DAP advisor, is facing several corruption charges in the Sessions Court related to the Penang Undersea Tunnel project.- Bernama
