KOTA BARU: Police have arrested a man with 12 previous convictions after discovering a Glock pistol and 36 rounds of live ammunition at his home in Pintu Geng earlier today.
Sources said the 50-year-old unemployed man was detained during a 5am raid carried out by a team from the Kelantan Police Criminal Investigation Department following a tip-off.
“During the operation, officers uncovered a Glock pistol and 36 rounds of ammunition concealed inside the house,” the source said.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect had been in possession of the firearm and ammunition for about a year.
“He claimed the weapon and bullets belonged to his employer,” the source added.
The suspect also tested positive for drugs and has been remanded for further action.
The case is being investigated under Section 8 of the Firearms Act 1960.
