Man Utd land in Kuala Lumpur, receive overwhelming welcome

KUALA LUMPUR: The Manchester United team received a thunderous welcome upon arriving in Kuala Lumpur on Monday night, as over 200 supporters and media members gathered outside their hotel.

They had been waiting for more than three hours to greet the Premier League giants.

After travelling over 17,000 kilometres on a 14-hour flight from England, the

Manchester, United players appeared visibly moved by the passionate reception as they stepped off a customised Red Devils team bus in the Malaysian capital.

Among those seen arriving were Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro, Rasmus Hojlund, Harry Maguire, and manager Ruben Amorim, who is leading his first post-season tour with the club.

Among the crowd were fans from Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore, all drawn to the city for United’s highly anticipated friendly against the Asean All-Stars at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil on Wednesday. A few lucky fans obtained autographs on shirts and merchandise during the Red Devils’ arrival.

On Tuesday, selected United players will participate in a series of promotional and fan engagement events across Kuala Lumpur before regrouping for an open training session at Bukit Jalil in the evening.

Representing the Asean All-Stars are Malaysia’s Azam Azmi Murad, Adib Ra’op, Declan Lambert and former Argentina striker Sergio Aguero. National goalkeeper Haziq Nadzli has also been released from the centralised training camp in Johor Baru to join the squad.
