PETALING JAYA:

A man allegedly strangled his girlfriend to death at an apartment in Kampung Baru Subang, Shah Alam, yesterday before reporting the crime to police.

Sungai Buloh police chief Hafiz Nor said his men rushed to the scene after receiving a call last night from the 47-year-old man, who was arrested for further investigation, Berita Harian reported.

“Checks inside a back room of the residence found a woman lying unconscious on a bed,” he was quoted as saying.

“A medical team from Sungai Buloh Hospital confirmed that the woman had been dead for more than four hours.”

According to Hafiz, initial investigation found that the 52-year-old victim had likely been strangled to death.

The suspect has been remanded for seven days until Aug 30. The case is being investigated for murder under Section 302.
