PETALING JAYA:

Police have arrested two people over seditious and threatening social media posts, one of which involves a criminal threat against Prime Minister Ibrahim.

In a statement tonight, federal CID chief M Kumar said a 44-year-old man was arrested to aid investigation into a comment threatening the prime minister made by a Facebook account in the name of Mdjohan Ngadin.

He said the case is being investigated for sedition and criminal intimidation.

Kumar said the other case involves a TikTok video by an account with the handle @mohd.soie3 containing elements of sedition and insults against the government.

A 45-year-old man was arrested to aid investigations into sedition and statements conducive to public mischief.
