Police have arrested a 33-year-old foreigner who allegedly sexually abused a cat before throwing it from the fourth floor of a flat in Kota Kemuning.
Acting Shah Alam police chief Ramsay Embol said a resident filed a report at 12.30am yesterday after she and her husband saw a naked man who appeared to be abusing a cat.
Ramsay said the couple had just reached home and saw the act from inside their car. The husband had gone up to the fourth floor to confront the man.
“The suspect then threw the cat over the ledge and fled. The complainant also recorded the incident on his phone,” Ramsay said in a statement.
Police arrested the man, a security guard at the flat, at 4.45am the same day. He has been remanded until Nov 19.
Ramsay said the suspect had no known mental health issues but was under the influence of alcohol at the time. Police have not found the cat.
The case is being probed under Section 377 of the Penal Code for intercourse against the order of nature with an animal and Section 428 for animal cruelty.
