Man killed, teen unconscious after car plunges into two-metre-deep drain


SHAH ALAM: A 20-year-old man was killed while a teenager was left unconscious after the car they were travelling in skidded and plunged into a drain along Jalan Bendang, Parit 4, Sungai Besar, in Sabak Bernam today.

Fire and Rescue Department Operations Division assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the department was alerted to the incident at 5.48pm.

“Preliminary reports showed the accident involved a Proton Wira that ended up in a drain about two metres deep.

“The first victim, a 15-year-old boy, was rescued by members of the public in an unconscious state.

“He was rushed to the hospital for treatment,” he said when contacted.

Ahmad Mukhlis said the other victim was found trapped at a rubbish trap about 150 metres from the accident site.

“The victim was pronounced dead by Health Ministry personnel at 7.10pm,” he said.
