Malaysia’s ‘summer all year’ appeal and cultural ties boost Chinese tourism, says PM Anwar

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 15 — Malaysia’s multi-ethnic society, including its large Chinese population, is among the key factors boosting bilateral tourism, following the implementation of a mutual visa-free policy, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ibrahim.

Describing Malaysia as a uniquely beautiful country, he said the cultural connections, coupled with Malaysia’s vibrant economic growth and political stability, created a welcoming environment for Chinese tourists.

“Those who have not visited are losing. A major loss, because this (Malaysia) is a beautiful country, very friendly,” he said during an interview with Chinese broadcaster CGTN’s anchor Zheng Junfeng on the sidelines of his recent working visit to .

“We have beautiful beaches, but the difference is that you can swim any time of the year. There’s no winter, it’s always like summer throughout the year,” he added.

Meanwhile, also praised ‘s remarkable progress in modernising its agricultural sector, adding that Malaysia was learning from the country’s experience on mechanisation, modern farming and sustainable practices as key drivers in improving productivity and farmer welfare.
