Malaysia's proud of you, PM tells Aaron-Wooi Yik


KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ibrahim expressed pride in the nation’s men’s doubles pair Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik for finishing second at the Malaysia Open today.

He said the duo are destined for greater heights and urged them to continue working hard and maintain their confidence as they progress on the international stage.

“Although luck was not on our side, all Malaysians, including myself, are proud of the fighting spirit displayed by Aaron-Wooi Yik in their battle against South Korean doubles pair Kim Won Ho-Seo Seung Jae.

“Keep working hard, fix every weakness and maintain your confidence.

“Insya-Allah, more successes are expected to follow,” he said in a statement posted on Facebook today.

The world No. 2 Malaysians fell 21-15, 12-21, 21-18 to ‘s world No. 1 Kim Won Ho–Seo Seung Jae.

The prime minister also presented the medals to the duo after the 66-minute match at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil.
