The 46-year-old suspect was stopped at 5.35 am on Sunday (Aug 31) during a roadblock conducted by officers from the Sadao District Police Station.

A source said the roadblock was part of a crime prevention operation targeting drug smuggling and security threats.

An inspection of the Malaysian-registered vehicle revealed two M4 rifles, 300 rounds of 5.56mm calibre ammunition, seven magazines for 5.56mm rounds, 100 rounds of .45 calibre ammunition, and 50 rounds of 9mm calibre ammunition.

“All the weapons and ammunition have been seized as case evidence for further investigation,” the source said.
