KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 10 (Bernama) — Malaysia’s rich multicultural heritage will take centre stage at the ‘Malaysia Wedding Exhibition’, featuring the diverse marriage traditions of six ethnic groups — Malay, Chinese, Indian, Iban, Kadazan Dusun and Siamese — from Sept 12 to 16.
The exhibition, to be held at Titiwangsa Lake Gardens here from 9 am to 10 pm daily, is part of the Malaysia Cultural Festival organised by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC).
National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang said the event highlights how Malaysia’s wedding customs, passed down through generations, reflect the values and identity of its people.
“When we understand, respect and accept differences, harmony will emerge, and that is Malaysia’s true strength.
“This is the spirit of Malaysia MADANI that we must continue to nurture,” he said in a statement today.
Visitors will be able to witness the splendour of traditional wedding ceremonies, intricate bridal attire and symbolic wedding gifts unique to each community.
Aaron expressed hope that the exhibition would not only provide an immersive cultural experience but also deepen the sense of unity and strengthen bonds among Malaysians of diverse backgrounds in building a harmonious nation.
