KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia has recorded encouraging progress in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a projected achievement rate of 49 per cent by 2030, far surpassing the global average of 18 per cent, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ibrahim.

He said the progress was reported at the 2025 National Sustainable Development Goals Council Meeting, which he chaired this morning.

“However, behind these positive figures, much remains to be addressed, particularly concerning the nation’s 10 SDG Priority Areas – from issues of child malnutrition, mental health and management of students with special needs to employment opportunities for persons with disabilities,” said in a Facebook post.

He said these efforts require cooperation from all parties – across the federal and state governments, the private sector and civil society – to ensure that no one is left behind in the nation’s development.

He said the Madani government remains committed to the SDG agenda, which moves in tandem with the implementation of the 13th Malaysia Plan, towards inclusive, sustainable and prosperous progress for the future of Malaysia’s younger generation. — BERNAMA
