
PETALING JAYA: A 4.8-magnitude earthquake struck the northern Kalimantan city of Tarakan in Indonesia at 6.37pm Wednesday (Nov 5).
In a social media post, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) confirmed the incident and said that tremors might be felt in southern Sabah.
“The epicentre of the quake was located at 2.7°N and 116.6°E at a depth of 10km. It is located 227km from Sapulut, Sabah,” MetMalaysia said in its post Wednesday.
The department also said that it would continue monitoring the situation.
