KUALA LUMPUR: A senior Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) officer was arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) this afternoon.
It is understood that the arrest is linked to the procurement of an information technology (IT)-related project.
The senior officer, said to be among the ‘Top 5’ in City Hall management, was reportedly arrested at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya while present to give a statement today.
In addition to the senior officer, two members of the public believed to be contractors for the project were also arrested in connection with the case.
It is understood that the MACC will bring all three to the Putrajaya Court tomorrow morning to obtain a remand order.
Efforts are being made to obtain confirmation from the MACC.
