KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 22 (Bernama) — The MADANI Government has made progress in resolving many issues related to the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) concerning Sabah, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said.
He said through the Malaysia Agreement 1963 Implementation Action Council Technical Committee (JKMTPMA63), chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, a total of 13 claims have been resolved.
“Among the matters agreed upon between the Federal Government and the Sabah Government are the transfer of regulatory authority over electricity supply and Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) to the Sabah Government.
“The Federal Government will also continue to allocate RM1.2 billion to ensure the continuity of electricity supply in the state,” he said.
The prime minister said this during a briefing session on the MADANI Government’s Position on the Federal Special Grant to Sabah in the Dewan Rakyat today.
