PUTRAJAYA: As the crowd cheered for the uniformed units during the National Day parade, young children were inspired and dressed in a variety of costumes.
From military outfits to police uniforms, the “little officers” were warmly welcomed by enforcement personnel who took pictures and posed with the children atop their machinery.
This includes siblings Ahnaf Anaqi Ahmad Amirr, 7, and Ahnaf Ardani Ahmad Amirr, 6, who donned the military uniform.
“They were inspired by the parade last year and wanted to dress the part too,” said their father, Ahmad Amirr bin Aminudin, 33.
Also donning the Air Force uniforms were siblings Gary Hudson Luke, 10, Mary Carla, 5 and Gabriel Hans, 7.
“My wife stitched the uniforms themselves. Perhaps they took inspiration from me, as I’m also an air force personnel,” said their father, Air Force officer George Anak Tonge.
Auxiliary police officer Mohd Hishammudin Jamasin, 31, also brought his children, who donned police and army uniforms.
“They wanted to join in the fun this year, so we made them these costumes,” he said when met.
This year’s National Day celebration is themed “Malaysia Madani: Rakyat Disantuni”.
It will feature 81 contingents, more than 14,000 participants, 437 vehicle assets, 116 animal assets and 21 brass bands.
