KUALA LUMPUR: The family of the missing Datin Seri Pamela Ling Yueh has voiced frustration over the lack of meaningful updates in the investigation, despite recent remarks by Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

Lawyer Sangeet Kaur Deo, who represented the family, said the minister had disclosed that four Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers were questioned in relation to Ling’s disappearance.

“However, the family stressed that this revelation does not shed any new light on the case.

“Despite these claims, there have been zero leads uncovered, and Ling’s family remains completely in the dark regarding any developments,” she said in a statement Thursday (Aug 21).

She added that repeated assurances that “investigations are ongoing” offered little comfort, given that no concrete results have been shared to date.

“Such statements ring hollow when, in reality, there is no sign that anything meaningful is actually being done,” she added.

The information previously shared, including the discovery of Pamela’s car near the border and the fact that statements had been taken from 47 individuals had already been made public months ago, she said.

“Reiterating the same facts only highlights the absence of fresh developments,” she said.
