Kuala Lumpur Tower unveils friendly new mascot "Kay Elle"

KUALA LUMPUR: The Kuala Lumpur Tower has officially introduced its new mascot, “Kay Elle”, a character inspired by the affectionate abbreviation for Malaysia’s capital city — KL — making it easily recognisable both locally and internationally.

In a press statement, Kuala Lumpur Tower described Kay Elle as a symbol of Malaysia’s warmth and hospitality, national pride, cultural diversity, and the spirit of unity.

“Kay Elle is more than just a mascot. It’s a personality, a storyteller, and a representation of the Malaysian people who are friendly in nature, proud of their heritage, rich in diversity, and united in spirit,” Khairil Faizal Othman, chief executive officer of LSH Servis Master Sdn Bhd (LSHSM), the operator of Kuala Lumpur Tower, was quoted as saying.

To celebrate the mascot’s debut, the tower is inviting Malaysians to showcase their creativity by designing a companion character for Kay Elle through the “Befriend Kay Elle” Mascot Design Contest.

The winning entry will receive a cash prize of RM2,000, a one-year unlimited pass to Kuala Lumpur Tower, and the opportunity for their creation to be turned into an official exclusive souvenir. The prize package also includes a full set of exclusive mascot merchandise.

“Through this competition, we’re calling on Malaysians to help shape the next character in Kay Elle’s journey — one that we hope will grow into a globally recognised icon,” Khairil Faizal added.

Entries can be submitted via the Google Form platform at https://forms.gle/UCLrwow1zqDJiTMZ6 before Aug 30. — BERNAMA
