Ministry enhances fathers’ family role through KASIH MADANI 2.0, featuring fatherhood modules and shared parenting responsibilities
PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development is reinforcing fathers’ roles in building resilient families through its newly launched KASIH MADANI 2.0 package.
Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said the fatherhood module emphasises paternal responsibility and leadership within family structures.
“We want fathers to play a meaningful leadership role,” she told reporters after the National Family Month 2025 celebration.
Nancy stressed that family wellbeing should not rest solely on mothers’ shoulders.
“It is not right for husbands to expect their wives to shoulder all the important duties,” she said.
She described parenting as a shared responsibility requiring balance rather than role swapping.
The package also focuses on cultivating noble values among parents and supporting childless couples.
“Fathers also need to undergo check-ups to understand that fertility issues are not solely the mother’s concern,” Nancy added.
KASIH MADANI 2.0 was developed by the National Population and Family Development Board with academics and family experts.
It features two core modules specifically designed for newlyweds and fathers.
Nancy highlighted KPWKM’s partnership with LPPKN to ensure no family gets left behind in national development.
She noted today’s world presents numerous social and emotional challenges for families.
Through the National Family KASIH Agenda, the ministry focuses on parenting education and social interventions.
Budget 2026 allocates RM4.1 billion to KPWKM for high-impact family initiatives.
These include fertility treatment assistance and reproductive health education programs.
LPPKN will lead implementation of these programs nationwide. – Bernama
