PETALING JAYA: The Kuala Lumpur International Airport Aerotrain operations will be halted daily for five hours after midnight for inspection works.

The notice was posted on the official KLIA X account on Friday (Nov 7).

“Aerotrain services will undergo inspection and rectification works from 12am to 5am daily.

“During this period, shuttle buses will operate in full to ensure passengers continue to enjoy a seamless transfer experience.

“These measures are part of our ongoing commitment to maintain safe, efficient, and comfortable airport connectivity,” it said.

On Oct 31, Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) said it plans to implement a comprehensive action plan to address the recurring reliability issues involving the KL International Airport (KLIA) aerotrain system.

MAHB said it would also continue to work closely with the Land Public Transport Agency and the Ministry of Transport to address and resolve the issue.

It said the decision follows a series of aerotrain incidents that prompted the airport operator to formally address concerns with contractors and demand immediate corrective action.

Previously, the Transport Ministry said that the Aerotrain provider may face fines of up to RM190,000 for every month it fails to ensure the train’s smooth operation.
