KUALA LUMPUR: The death of two university students at a Setapak condominium are being investigated for possible bullying.
City police chief Comm Datuk Fadil Marsus that while both deaths were still classified as Sudden Death so far, police were investigating to see if there were elements of bullying behind their tragic deaths.
“They are from the same university in Setapak. For both cases we have opened investigations under Section 507(b) to see if the bullying, online and offline, existed and were linked to these SDR (Sudden Death Report) cases,” he said.
On Wednesday morning, a 22-year-old woman fell to her death at the condominium in Taman Melati before a male student, also aged 22, fell to his death from a separate block of the same condominium 14 hours later.
The police investigation comes after the father of the first student claimed that she was a victim of bullying.
Comm Fadil Marsus added that post-mortems for both of the deceased have been conducted.
