KESUMA, HRD Corp Launch First One-Stop Labour Centre In Sabah

KOTA KINABALU, Aug 4 (Bernama) — The Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA), in collaboration with the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp), has launched the KESUMA Sabah One-Stop Labour Centre and the HRD Corp Sabah Office at Sutera Avenue here today.

HRD Corp said the KESUMA Sabah One-Stop Labour Centre is the first of its kind in the state, bringing together a range of labour-related services under one roof.

The centre aims to improve public access to employment-related services, skills development, workplace safety and social protection, it said in a statement.

Located on Level 1, Block A, Sutera Avenue, the centre will simplify employment-related matters for both workers and employers in Sabah.

“This includes coordinating functions such as job matching, training applications, union affairs, workplace safety advisory services and legal dispute resolution.

“This initiative is expected to strengthen inter-agency coordination, empower local talents and support the Sabah Maju Jaya and Malaysia MADANI agendas through inclusive and integrated human capital development,” it added.

Minister of Human Resources Datuk Steven Sim said in the same statement that the centre reflected KESUMA’s new approach to bringing services closer to the people through the “no wrong door” policy.

“All worker-related matters, labour issues, training and social protection are now available under one roof,” he said after officiating the centre.

He added that KESUMA planned to expand the pilot initiative nationwide as part of the ministry’s broader service restructuring to ensure more efficient, inclusive and people-friendly delivery.

Among the departments and agencies operating at the KESUMA Sabah One-Stop Labour Centre are the Department of Labour, Department of Occupational Safety and Health, Department of Industrial Relations, Department of Trade Union Affairs and Sabah Industrial Court.

Also operating at the same centre are the Department of Skills Development, Kota Kinabalu Industrial Training Institute, Advanced Technology Training Centre Sandakan, Social Security Organisation (PERKESO), National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Skills Development Fund Corporation and HRD Corp.
